Bournemouth confident about fighting off Tottenham advances this summer
David Ornstein has provided a big update on the future of a Premier League manager, who is widely reported to be Tottenham’s top choice to replace Ange Postecoglou this summer.
Until around a month ago, it was widely reported that Postecoglou had been told that he would have to win the Europa League to save his job.
However, at this point, it seems unclear whether even lifting the trophy would be enough to save the Australian as Tottenham’s terrible run of results in the Premier League has continued despite the return of key men from injuries.

It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Andoni Iraola is Tottenham’s clear number-one choice to replace Postecoglou, and we have now heard an update on the Bournemouth head coach’s future.
David Ornstein provides Andoni Iraola update
There were some optimistic reports over recent weeks regarding the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the Spaniard as a number of sources had claimed that Andoni Iraola would be open to a move to Tottenham this summer.
However, David Ornstein has now offered Spurs a transfer blow by playing down the chances of the 42-year-old leaving the Vitality Stadium this summer.
The Athletic reporter confirmed to NBC Sport that Iraola is attracting interest from a number of clubs ahead of the summer, but he revealed that the feeling at Bournemouth is that he is going to stay beyond the summer.
Ornstein added that the former Rayo Vallecano boss may even sign a contract extension at the South Coast club and may give them one more season before making a switch to a bigger side.

The journalist also spoke to NBC News about Postecoglou’s future, stating that a change in the dugout at Spurs now seems ‘increasingly likely’ this summer.
Ornstein added that the feeling among the Tottenham hierarchy is that their current squad is much better than what the performances have reflected this season and that the 59-year-old has failed to get the best out of the players at his disposal.
