Brittons Hill slip with draw
Brittons Hill are in danger of losing their grip on second place in the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Premier League standings after being held to a 1-1 stalemate by Paradise Club on Sunday at the BFA Technical Centre in Wildey.
All ten teams in the league have played a total of 13 matches, and with defending champions Ensure Max Protein Weymouth Wales on a clear trajectory to repeat as kings with 39 points so far with five games remaining, the battle for the runners-up position continues to unfold with keen interest.
Brittons Hill, coached by Richard ‘Juggy’ Forde, earned a point against the Dover-based Paradise side, a result that has left them jointly tied on 24 points with the University of the West Indies Blackbirds, who secured a 2-0 victory in the opening match of the triple header against the struggling Abrahams United Silver Sands – the only team yet to win a game this season.
The feature game of the night saw several missed opportunities and strong defensive tackles, which forced centre referee Cleon Culley to reach into his top shirt pocket for red cards. Rashaun Hoyte of Brittons Hill was sent off in the 11th minute, followed by Paradise captain Jomo Harris in the 66th. (ML)
