Fresh off the "Severance" finale, Apple TV Plus has rolled out a deal that will knock 70% off your first three months of service. This is a rare offer from the streaming giant, only available for a limited time.
The Apple TV Plus deal runs until April 24, 2025. The offer launched on April 8, so it's only available for a little over two weeks in total. New and qualified returning subscribers can get their first three months of service for $2.99 a month before subscriptions renew at the standard rate of $9.99 a month. This is 70% off of the first three months of service, a total of $21 in savings.
First launched in 2019, Apple TV Plus is best known for its prestige original TV series, but it also offers a few films and live sports options. While the streamer has made waves in recent months for its critically acclaimed second season of "Severance," the service is also behind comedic hits like "Ted Lasso" and "Bad Sisters" and must-see dramas such as "For All Mankind" and "The Morning Show."
We don't often see deals from Apple TV Plus outside the standard free months that come with the purchase of Apple devices, so this is a can't-miss deal if you've been thinking of giving the streaming service a try. You can find more details below, including answers to some frequently asked Apple TV Plus questions.
FAQ
Who is eligible for the deal?
There are a few eligibility stipulations. You need to make sure that you're subscribing directly through Apple and not a third party (like a wireless provider), and you can't also be eligible for three months of free Apple TV Plus. Not sure if that's you? You can click through the Apple TV Plus website to see your potential savings when you start the signup process.
What's on Apple TV Plus?
Apple TV Plus mainly carries original programming. In addition to the shows that we highlighted above, the app also carries popular programs like "Slow Horses," "Shrinking," and the recently released Seth Rogen vehicle "The Studio." The service has developed a particular niche for sci-fi, boasting programs like "Silo," "Foundation," "Invasion," and "Dark Matter," in addition to the aforementioned "Severance" and "For All Mankind."
Apple TV Plus also carries select movies (including "Fly Me to the Moon," "Killers of the Flower Moon," and "The Gorge") and exclusive Friday night MLB games. If you can't get enough sports, you can also add on the MLS Season Pass for all-access soccer. You don't need an Apple TV Plus account to subscribe to this add-on, although it is a bit cheaper when you already have a base account.
Is Apple TV Plus worth it?
In our guide to the best streaming services, we dubbed Apple TV Plus the best ad-free plan on a budget. The streamer consistently produces several critically acclaimed TV shows yearly and isn't known for huge price hikes. Even before the current discount, the service is one of the cheapest ad-free streaming services on the market. It's also one of the few streaming services that offers ad-free streaming in its base plan, with no ad-supported option or upgrades to higher tiers.
