Woman raped at knifepoint in Queens: NYPD
JAMAICA, Queens (PIX11) --- Police are searching for a suspect accused of raping a woman at knifepoint in Queens Friday, authorities said.
The suspect allegedly came up from behind the 50-year-old woman near 162nd Street and 89th Avenue in Jamaica at around 3 a.m., according to the NYPD.
The woman was then forcibly raped at knifepoint, police said. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect, wearing a black hoodie with red letters saying, "Scary Ghost Face," was last seen running south on 89th Avenue, police said.
There have been no arrests.
There have been 484 reported rapes citywide this year, a 20 percent increase compared to the same time in 2024, according to police data.
There were 133 reported rapes in the Bronx alone this year, the data showed.
