Gilbert Burns vs. Michael Morales moved from UFC 315 to UFC Vegas 106 main event
A welterweight showdown between Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales has been moved from the main card of UFC 315 on May 10 to the headlining spot of UFC Vegas 106 at the APEX on May 17.
The promotion announced the change during Saturday’s UFC 314 broadcast.

Burns is currently No. 7 at welterweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while the undefeated Morales sits on the cusp of a top 15 spot.
It’s unclear why the bout was pushed back to May 17 from the Montreal lineup to a Fight Night show in Las Vegas.
Burns (22-8) looks to snap a three-fight skid following losses to current champion Belal Muhammad and top-ranked 170-pounders Jack Della Maddalena and Sean Brady. “Durinho” has won three of seven bouts since challenging Kamaru Usman for the UFC title in 2021, leaving his promotional record at 15-8.
Ecuador’s Morales (17-0) enters the biggest fight of his career after winning five in a row in the UFC since a successful appearance at Dana White’s Contender Series, a run capped off by a bonus-winning first-round finish of Neil Magny this past August.
UFC 315 is headlined by Muhammad vs. Della Maddalena for the welterweight strap, with Valentina Shevchenko defending her flyweight belt against Manon Fiorot in the co-main event.
