Teen Murdered His Parents in Plot to Kill President Trump
A 17-year-old Wisconsin teenager fatally shot his parents as part of an extremist plot to assassinate President Donald Trump and overthrow the U.S. government.
This is third known assassination attempt against Trump since July 2024.
Nikita Casap, of Waukesha, was arrested in March and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of hiding a corpse in the deaths of his mother, Tatiana Casap, 35, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, 51, according to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.
Federal charges are pending, including conspiracy, presidential assassination, and use of weapons of mass destruction, court documents show. This follows two prior attempts on Trump’s life, one at a Pennsylvania rally and another at his Florida golf course.

The FBI alleges Casap killed his parents on Feb. 28 inside their Waukesha home to gain the “financial means and autonomy” to execute his plan. A federal affidavit states he communicated with others who knew of his intentions, purchasing a drone and explosives intended as a weapon of mass destruction.
“He was in touch with other parties about his plan to kill the President and overthrow the government of the United States,” the affidavit said.
Investigators found extremist material on Casap’s phone, including ties to the neo-Nazi Order of Nine Angles and a manifesto outlining his motives. The document called for Trump’s assassination to “foment a political revolution” and “save the white race,” with references to Adolf Hitler and phrases like “Hail Victory.”
Casap wrote, “As to why, specifically Trump, I think it’s obvious. By getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, that is guaranteed to bring in some chaos.”
The victims’ bodies were discovered March 1 after a neighbor’s concern prompted a sheriff’s visit. Evidence suggests Casap hid the bodies and fled, only to be apprehended in Iowa after a traffic stop.
This case emerges amid heightened scrutiny of Trump’s security following two earlier incidents.
On July 13, 2024, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired eight rounds from an AR-15-style rifle at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, wounding Trump in the upper right ear, killing one spectator, and injuring two others. Crooks was killed by Secret Service snipers, and the FBI has not identified a motive, though it’s investigating the incident as domestic terrorism.
The event led to the resignation of Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle and calls for improved candidate security.
On Sept. 15, 2024, Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was spotted with a rifle at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while Trump golfed. A Secret Service agent fired at Routh, who fled but was later arrested. Routh faces federal charges, including attempted assassination, with evidence of planning since February 2024. A letter found by authorities revealed Routh’s intent to kill Trump, whom he called “unfit” for leadership.
Casap appeared in Waukesha County Court on April 9 for a preliminary hearing on state charges. He has not entered a plea and remains in custody without bail. Federal authorities continue to investigate potential accomplices.
