Margiela and Salomon’s Genderless Collection Features an XT-4 Mule and a Stealthy Road Running Shoe
MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon have announced the next chapter in their partnership with a genderless collection featuring two sneakers for different levels of activity.
The MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon XT-4 Mule and Spectur 2 cover the bases for leisure and running. Blues, brown and yellow dress the formal model, which sees the heel chopped off the trail runner turned popular lifestyle model. The Spectur 2, a more contemporary road runner, is then rendered in all-black with MM6’s number board of a logo applied tonally to the lateral toe and heel.
That’s just drop one, though, as a second phase for the collection will see the XT-4 Mule white and “Beige Haze” and the Spectur 2 in seafoam green. Images for this second crop of sneakers have not yet been revealed.
The XT-4 Mule has been exclusive to Salomon’s partnership with MM6 Maison Margiela, having debuted last year in a trip of colorways. Later in 2024, they also dropped a firmly on-trend XT-6 Mary Jane.
Releasing alongside the first crop of sneakers will be a MA-1 bomber jacket in a translucent windproof ripstop with reflective taped seams. A light and stretchy ripstop short features laser-cut hems and comes in an oversized fit, and on the performance front comes long- and short-sleeve tees, a tank and fitted shorts made from a 3D bio-based polyamide mixing textural mesh and a jacquard weave.
Drop one for the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon collection is slated for Thursday, April 17, and drop two May 8. Stock will be available through both parties’ websites, as well as select storefronts and third-party retailers. Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but previous XT-4 mules were $410.
