1. Fatal plane crash in the town of Copake under investigation
An investigation is currently underway for a fatal plane crash that occurred in the town of Copake on Saturday. Multiple people were reportedly on board the aircraft when it crashed at around 12:06 p.m.
2. Amsterdam schools report fewer student conflicts following new security measures
The Greater Amsterdam School District has released an update on its safety and security initiatives. According to the update, the district has seen a significant decline in student conflicts and referrals.
3. 2 arrested after allegedly stealing a dog in Albany
Two people have been arrested after allegedly stealing a dog, the Albany Police Department announced on Saturday. Brenda McClendon, 42, and Javier Clark, 24, have been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon.
4. Montgomery Co. limits DMV services to county residents
The Montgomery County Department of Motor Vehicles in Fonda will be limiting its transactions to county residents. The change will take effect on Monday.
5. Troopers identified in Malta barracks shooting, AG investigating
The troopers involved have been identified as Eric Brown, Nicholas Dziamba and Joshua Mallard. NYSP said Trooper Brown has been with them for 19 years and is assigned to Troop G’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit. Trooper Dziamba has been with NYSP for more than 9 years and is assigned to Troop G in Charlton. Trooper Mallard has been with NYSP since April 2024 and is assigned to the Malta barracks.
