Tottenham academy star reveals exciting dream to captain the club one day
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Tye Hall has made his ambitions as a Spurs academy graduate clear – and it’s one that will certainly excite the Lilywhites faithful.
It’s fair to say that Tottenham Hotspur have a rather bright future ahead of them, with several talented youngsters both in the first-team squad and coming through the academy.
On Friday, the academy players gave supporters a glimpse of that promise, as they secured their second Premier League Cup title in the last three seasons.
A commanding 5-2 win over Charlton Athletic saw Spurs run riot, with Williams-Barnett netting a hat-trick, while Byrne and Elliott-Parris got in on the act to seal the silverware.

However, ahead of the cup final, 17-year-old midfielder Tye Hall appeared on Tottenham’s official X account, speaking candidly about his journey as a Spurs academy player.
When asked what he truly hopes to achieve in his footballing career, the youngster didn’t hesitate—he wants to wear the captain’s armband for Tottenham Hotspur.
He said: “Just leaving a legacy for the club. Even me, I want to play for Tottenham in the Premier League, wherever it is—yeah, just being a main player. One day I want to captain Tottenham as well.”
Hall draws inspiration from Spurs’ Rodrigo Bentancur
Tye Hall, who has been with the Tottenham youth setup since he was eight, is now currently playing for the Spurs Under-17 side but has occasionally trained with the senior team.
Operating as a defensive midfielder, Hall was asked who he models his game after. The young talent replied: “From the first team, I’d say Bentancur, cause I like getting the ball—one, two-touch player, controls the game, tidy on the ball too as well.”
Of course, the youngster still has a long road ahead before breaking into the Tottenham first-team setup, but it’s clear there’s plenty to be excited about with this next generation of young players coming through the club’s academy.
