Tottenham may have already decided to part ways with key figure this summer
Amidst the speculation on social media about how Vinai Venkatesham’s arrival as Tottenham’s CEO changes the club’s structure, some believe the new appointment means an exit for one Spurs man.
On Friday, Tottenham confirmed that Vinai Venkatesham is set to be the latest addition to the club’s board, having agreed to join as the new CEO at the end of this season.
The 44-year-old held the same position at Spurs’ fierce rivals, Arsenal, for over a decade before resigning last year, and he has now made the controversial move across the North London divide.
According to reports, Venkatesham will take responsibility for all operational matters on and off the field at Tottenham and is thus set to work closely with Daniel Levy.
Vinai Venkatesham’s arrival is bad news for Scott Munn
Tottenham are yet to officially confirm how Venkatesham’s arrival this summer will change their structure and how responsibilities will be divided.
With Scott Munn working as the chief football officer and Johan Lange as the club’s technical director, it remains to be seen how their roles will be modified this summer.
The Guardian have now predicted that Venkatesham’s arrival is particularly bad news for Munn, who has been at Hotspur Way for nearly two years.
The outlet does not explain why that is the case or shed light on whether the Australian director’s time at Tottenham may come to an end this summer.
Tottenham fan group calls for transparency after Venkatesham’s arrival
A Tottenham fan group, ‘Change for Tottenham’, welcomed the arrival of Venkatesham, believing that it was a step in the right direction.
However, they called on the club to have greater transparency about people’s role definition, especially the role of chairman Daniel Levy.
