Mark Lawrenson makes prediction even deluded Tottenham fans would gasp at
Mark Lawrenson has made his prediction for Wolverhampton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspur and it is likely to cause some raised eyebrows.
Tottenham have caused their supporters a lot of frustration this season. Every time it looks like things are starting to come together, Ange Postecoglou’s team lands back at square one.
Spurs finally claimed a victory in their last Premier League match, their first win in the competition since a 4-1 victory over Ipswich in February. While it was against a struggling Southampton team, any win is a welcome achievement considering how the current campaign has gone.
However, Tottenham were once again unable to build on their victory, as they failed to defeat Frankfurt in the Europa League. This is despite the fact they dominated the game with more possession, big chances created, expected goals and shots on target. Lucas Bergvall also came close, with a well-struck effort which hit the woodwork.
Mark Lawrenson says Tottenham will win every single game
The general feeling of Spurs supporters towards their club at this moment in time is largely negative. Protests against Daniel Levy have gathered momentum, while Postecoglou has lost even some of his most loyal enthusiasts.
Mark Lawrenson does not expect this to last and he believes Tottenham could be about to achieve the breakthrough they so badly need.
Making his prediction for Tottenham’s next fixture on Paddy Power, he said: “Just as everyone’s ready to write Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou’s obituary they go and win a few games so I fancy Tottenham here. It’s just typical Spurs.
“They’ll probably go and win all their games for the rest of the season and that’ll throw everything into turmoil in a new and exciting way! Have a quid on them to win the Europa League as well!”
Lawrenson’s prediction: Wolves 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs have shown no signs of improvement
Lawrenson may have hit his head this week, because his prediction for how Spurs will conclude their season is utterly bizarre. He states Tottenham have won a few games, but this is a stretch.
Other than a Europa League win against AZ Alkmaar a month ago, their only recent win came against a Southampton side flirting with the unwanted record of becoming the worst Premier League team in history.

He says it is typical for Spurs to be written off and then perform, but the reality is the opposite. Usually, Tottenham perform well and cause their supporters to believe, only to fall at the final hurdle.
If Lawrenson’s assessment is correct, Spurs fans will not be complaining. However, he has predicted Tottenham to have a eureka moment without providing any concrete evidence to back it up. Right now it is difficult to see how this season will end in anything except disappointment.
