Man Utd now prepared to agree £20m discount to sell 22yo star, Juventus & Napoli interested
Manchester United will likely make multiple signings when the transfer window reopens this summer.
The Red Devils could pursue a marquee striker, considering their struggles in the Premier League.
United are one of the lowest scorers in the top-flight this term with 37 goals from 31 matches.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have underperformed upfront, and Tuttomercatoweb claim that the former has been placed on the transfer market by the Red Devils.
Juventus have joined Napoli in the race for the Denmark international. United purchased him for £72m including add-ons, and will hold out for at least £52m for a transfer.
The Red Devils are prepared to accept a £20m loss to offload their striker.
United should part ways with Hojlund this summer
The 22-year-old came to United with a glowing reputation from Serie A outfit Atalanta, but he has struggled to adapt to the intensity and physicality of the Premier League.
Hojlund had a decent debut campaign with 10 league goals, but he has gone off the boil this season. He has netted three times from 26 appearances in the English top tier.
The Dane has been short of form and confidence upfront and we won’t be surprised if United are prepared to cut their losses on the centre-forward over the summer.
Napoli and Juventus have been credited with an interest, but the duo are dependent on exits.
Napoli want a competitor for Romelu Lukaku with Victor Osimhen poised to leave. Juventus may only spend big on Hojlund after parting ways with Dusan Vlahovic.
Osimhen is reportedly on United’s transfer radar. He is valued at £56m, and a swap deal with Hojlund could be on the cards if the club can afford his annual salary.
Otherwise, United could prioritise a deal for Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap. The 22-year-old can be signed for just £30m if the Tractor Boys are relegated from the top flight.
