A NEW documentary about Freddie Flintoff has had its release date confirmed – and it’s just days away.

The 47-year-old former cricketer has granted cameras exclusive access to document the highs and lows of his life and career.

The film – produced by South Shore – will look back at Freddie’s incredible life and cricketing career that saw him win two Ashes series with England and become a national sporting hero.

However, it will also chart his life today and return to cricket following his life-altering car crash in 2022. 

Freddie was left permanently scarred following the horrifying crash while filming Top Gear.

The star co-hosted the BBC motoring show alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris from 2019 until the crash.

Freddie was rushed to hospital following the high-speed smash at the Top Gear test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome, Surrey.

And now Freddie will speak in depth about the crash in a brand new documentary for streaming giant Disney+.

Called Flintoff, it will premiere on April 25 in the UK and Ireland.

Award-winning director John Dower has been granted exclusive access to Freddie over the last year to film his recovery and document his cricketing career.

Freddie said: “Cricket’s always been a massive part of my life, shaping who I am.

“Looking back on the highs and the lows, including the challenges I’ve faced since my accident, has been a real reminder of why my career in the sport has meant so much.”

Freddie took time away from the spotlight to recover from his injuries before gradually returning to TV with his show Field of Dreams.

The show will be returning for a third series, and Freddie also got some good news in February when it was confirmed his reboot of Bullseye had been snapped up for a full series.

The move by ITV came after a successful pilot of the dart-throwing game show at Christmas.

Four hour-long episodes will be broadcast as well as an additional extra-festive special.
