I’m a pregnant mum-of-3 on UC – trolls call me a ‘benefit scrounger’ & ‘dosser’ but I’m proud to get £3k for nothing

A 21-YEAR-OLD mother has revealed that she is proud to receive £3,000 a month in Universal Credit for doing nothing.

But despite this, Millie, a mum-of-three from the UK who is ‘attempting to budget better and save more’, explained that nasty trolls call her a ‘benefits scrounger’.

But Millie, a soon-to-be mum-of-four, was eager to clap back at the haters who accuse her of being a ‘dosser’

Not only this, but the pregnant woman even claimed that haters also accuse her of being a ‘dosser’.

The soon-to-be mum-of-four is expecting to give birth in September 2025.

But she explained that her nursery fees already cost her over £2,000 a month and after her bills, she is left ‘skint’ with three kids.

The young woman, who has a job and also makes “a little bit of money” from her TikTok videos via the Creator Fund, recently claimed she has just £10 to last seven days.

And now, Millie, who is eligible for Universal Credit, which is given to UK residents with a low income or who need help with their living costs, as well as child benefits, has opened up on the hate she receives as a result of receiving funding from the government.

Posting on social media, the content creator described herself as “a benefits scrounger claiming Universal Credit.”

Millie claimed that her daughter Oakley was sent home from nursery and got to spend the day with her, a “dosser mum”, as she continued: “That is one of the main things that is said to me – you’re this, you’re that, benefits scrounger, blah blah blah.”

Confused by the hate, Millie questioned: “But at the end of the day, if you’re entitled to all the free money, then why wouldn’t you take it?”

Millie also acknowledged: “I know full well that if you work full time and you were offered £3,000 a month to literally do nothing, I guarantee you would be taking it – who would turn down that amount of money every month?”

The young mother, who previously explained that her nursery fees are “absolutely through the roof”, hence why her Universal Credit payment doesn’t last long, added: “It’s still free money at the end of the day and you don’t really have to do anything for it, which is obviously a bonus.”

Unlike other creators, who use their money to get their nails done and go on Primark shopping sprees, Millie shared what she spends hers on.

She beamed: “It feeds the kids, it keeps a roof over their head and everything like that and that’s the whole point of the benefit system to me – it’s all about the kids and making sure that they have a good life.”

Am I entitled to Universal Credit?

According to the GOV website, if you’re on a low income or need help with your living costs, then you could be entitled to Universal Credit.

To claim, you must live in the UK, be aged 18 or over (with some exceptions if you’re 15 to 17), be under State Pension age, and have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments.

Other circumstances are if you are out of work, or unable to work, for example because of a health condition.

Social media users react

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @millie.2103, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as in two days it had quickly amassed 97,700 views and 1,176 likes.

Can’t win in this day and age, work full time you get hate, don’t work to raise your kids you get hate

Despite the rude remarks Millie often receives, numerous social media users eagerly rushed to the comments to share messages of love and support for the young mother.

One person said: “Don’t let the haters get to you, just keep posting your content. You’re doing the best you can with what you have.”

How much is child benefit worth?

THERE are two child benefit rates, one for the eldest child and another for younger children.

  • You get £21.15 per week for your eldest or only child (£1099.80 a year)
  • You get £14 for each of your other children (£728 per year, per child)
  • You get the money for each child under 16 (or under 20 if they stay in approved education or training)
  • If families split up, how much you’ll get for each child depends on how you claim.
  • If you have 2 children and one stays with you and the other stays with your ex-partner, you’ll both get £21.15 a week for each child.
  • If one parent claims for all the children, you get £21.15 for the eldest and £14 for each younger child.
  • Only one household can claim for each child

Another added: “Keep posting mumma.”

Whilst a third commented: “Can’t win in this day and age, work full time you get hate, don’t work to raise your kids you get hate. I work and raise my kids alone and it’s life.”

At the same time, another reassured Millie: “You’re not a dosser.”
