Albany police make arrest in Washington Ave assault
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Police Department has arrested a man in connection to an alleged assault that happened Monday night. Police said Schenectady parolee John W. Walker, 42, is charged with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, and forcible touching.
Police said the assault happened around 7:20 p.m. in a backyard on Washington Avenue. It's alleged that the victim and Walker got off the 905 CDTA bus near Central Avenue and Quail Street, and Walker followed the victim.
Police said the victim received injuries to the face during the assault. Walker was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remains in Albany County Jail.
