Mom, son, 8, hit by school bus in Brooklyn: sources
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- A mother and her 8-year-son were injured when a school bus crashed into a fence in Brooklyn Wednesday morning, officials and sources said.
The incident happened close to an elementary school near Bedford Avenue and Farragut Road in Flatbush at around 8:30 a.m., according to the FDNY.
The 43-year-old woman and boy were struck on the sidewalk when the yellow bus turned northbound on Farragut Road, sources and police said.
The boy suffered a broken arm, and the mom had pain in her neck and hip, according to the NYPD. Both were taken to the hospital or treatment.
The 66-year-old bus driver was not injured in the incident and remained at the scene.
There were no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
