Proceedings are underway in the fatal pellet-style gun shooting out of Saratoga Springs. Also, animal advocates are offering rewards for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person responsible in the Schenectady dog abuse case. 1. Fatal Saratoga roommate shooting begins proceedings
Brendan Carl had an in-person appearance on Tuesday morning at City Court. He faces two charges stemming from an alleged shooting at his apartment where his roommate was killed.
2. Animal advocates offering rewards in Schenectady dog violence investigation
The investigation into an animal cruelty incident against Lavender the pit bull in Schenectady remains ongoing. Schenectady Police announced on Tuesday that multiple regional animal advocacy agencies have since offered rewards for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person responsible for the dog’s abuse.
3. Capital Region schools postpone state tests following system disruptions
At least three Capital Region school districts had to postpone their state testing following computer system disruptions on Tuesday. Bethlehem Central School District, the Greater Amsterdam School District and Fort Edward Union Free School District were among the 10% of schools across the state that were impacted by the technical issue.
4. Chatham High School robotics team needs help affording world championship
The Chatham High School Robotics team is heading to the world championship as one of the smallest teams in the competition, but they need the public’s help.
5. Construction underway at affordable housing complex in Saratoga Springs
Construction has officially started at a new Saratoga Springs Housing Authority complex, Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Tuesday. The apartment complex will be called Springs West Apartments.
