Up to $1,200 in e-bike rebates available to Washington residents starting April 9
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Starting Wednesday, Washington residents will have two weeks to sign up for an e-bike rebate that could save them up to $1,200.
Applications will be available for roughly 10,000 possible rebates starting April 9 at 7 a.m. and remain open through noon on April 23. The state is offering more than $4 million in instant rebates, ranging from $300 to $1,200 per person.
The Washington Department of Transportation says the program aims to make active transportation more accessible for eligible residents. Interested buyers can check their eligibility as well as find bikes and retailers that qualify in an application.
“Washington residents are very excited about this program,” said Adele Peers, the program manager for WE-Bike. “We’re proud to launch an application website available in English and Spanish that helps people prepare to apply and makes the whole process simple.”
Legislators funded this program through transportation budget bill ESHB 1125, which used revenue from the Climate Commitment Act.
