International Round-Up: Five Hibees In Action
Five Hibees travelled away on international duty across the April window.
Eilidh Adams had earned a second consecutive call-up to the senior Scotland squad, while four First Team players travelled to Spain for international friendlies with the Scotland Under-23 squad.
Eilidh Adams
Our number nine earned her third cap as she started in the first of Scotland’s two UEFA Nations League clashes versus European heavyweight Germany.
Adams led the line for Scotland before being substituted, with the National Team going down to a 4-0 defeat on the night.
The forward celebrated her 21st birthday while in the camp, but did not take part in the reverse fixture at the Volkswagen Arena.
Kathleen McGovern
Kathleen McGovern, who netted two goals in two games for the Under-23s back in October, carried on her excellent goal scoring form for her country.
Starting versus Denmark, McGov fired in Scotland’s only regular-time goal of the international window as the Danes secured a 3-1 win at Pinatar Arena.
The striker was subsequently introduced as a substitute in the Under-23’s second match against Portugal, which ended in a goalless draw.
Stepping up for the first spot kick in the shoot-out, McGovern converted confidently into the bottom corner to put Scotland on their way to a 5-4 penalty shoot-out triumph.
Michaela McAlonie
Micky McAlonie was the only Hibee to start both fixtures for her country across the international break, starting from the off against both Denmark and Portugal.
The midfielder shone versus Denmark especially, picking up the Player of the Match award for her fantastic performance in the middle of the park.
Erin Clachers
Donning the captain’s armband and leading the squad out, Erin Clachers started versus Portugal in the number one kit.
An impressive performance saw the keeper keep a clean sheet at a sun-kissed Pinatar Arena, before going on to save Portugal’s fourth penalty in the shoot-out to help Scotland to victory.
Tegan Bowie
Once more, Tegan Bowie was a consistent feature of the Scotland Under-23s across the international period.
The speedy Hibs winger started the first match in Murcia versus Denmark, before appearing off the bench against Portugal.
