Warriors vs. Suns injury report
The full injury list for tonight’s matchup between Golden State and Phoenix.
The Golden State Warriors have just four games remaining, and the first of those four takes place tonight on TNT when the Dubs head to the desert to visit the Phoenix Suns.
It’s a critical game for the Warriors, who find themselves in an almost comical traffic jam in the Western Conference standings. It’s also a game the Warriors will be heavily favored to win. Sure, they’re on the road, but they’re facing a team in total collapse. The Suns have lost six consecutive games, and are 10-18 since beating the Warriors back on January 31.
On top of all that, the Suns are missing their best player, while the Warriors are pretty healthy. Here’s the full injury report for Tuesday’s game, which tips off at 7:00 p.m. PT on TNT.
Warriors
Questionable — Gary Payton II (right knee inflammation)
On Monday, the Warriors had a fully clean injury report. But at some point on Tuesday, Payton popped up with some soreness in his knee. He’s had a lot of different ailments this season, and right now the focus has to be on getting him to full health for the playoffs.
Suns
Out — Kevin Durant (left ankle sprain)
Durant has missed the second half of Phoenix’s current six-game skid, and that will continue on Tuesday. It’s hard to understate just how important he’s been to the Suns this year. In games where he hasn’t played, Phoenix has a paltry record of 2-14, with both wins coming against the lowly Utah Jazz (and one in overtime). They’ve simply been an atrocious team when KD isn’t on the court.
Probable — Nick Richards (right elbow soreness)
Richards has been playing quite well since coming over to the Suns at the deadline, following four-and-a-half years with the Charlotte Hornets. He’s been starting at center for Phoenix, and is averaging 9.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, in just 22.7 minutes.
Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
