4/8/2025: Bitter cold with a few flurries
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
In the wake of a cold front that pushed through early this morning, a few lake effect and upslope snow showers or flurries will develop. Some in the mountains, especially the western Adirondacks could wind up with an inch or two of fresh snow.
The bigger impact, however, will be the combination of very cold air and very gusty conditions. Actual temperatures will peak in the mid 30's for the Capital District, but with the wind factored in it will feel more like the low 20's. In the higher terrain, it will feel like the single digits or teens!
Lows will be in the 20's tonight, and highs will be in the 40's tomorrow. It won't be quite as windy, but the breeze will still make it feel awfully chilly.
We're in the upper 40's for Thursday, but with clouds giving way to rain the the afternoon. Friday and Saturday look rainy as well, with highs around the 50 degree mark.
Sunday and Monday look much better, with temperatures rising into the mid 50's then the low 60's with more breaks of sun.
