'Truly a moron': Elon Musk hurls insults at top Trump trade adviser
Billionaire Elon Musk on Tuesday lobbed new insults at Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro after he accused Musk of opposing President Donald Trump's tariffs for self-interested reasons.
Writing on his own X platform, Musk lashed out at Navarro's claim that Musk is a "car assembler" who gets many of his cars' parts imported from overseas before putting them together in Texas.
"Navarro is truly a moron," Musk wrote. "What he says here is demonstrably false."
In a followup post, Musk contended that "Tesla has the most American-made cars" and added that "Navarro is dumber than a sack of bricks."

Not content to leave it at that, Musk wrote yet another followup post.
"By any definition whatsoever, Tesla is the most vertically integrated auto manufacturer in America with the highest percentage of US content," he wrote. "Navarro should ask the fake expert he invented, Ron Vara."
"Ron Vara" is a fictional alter ego that Navarro would often cite as an international trade expert to back up his own opinions in one of his own books.
Musk and Navarro have been feuding over tariffs for the last several days as global stock markets have slid after Trump launched a trade war with nearly every nation on Earth last week.
