Aldi is selling a garden gadget to help keep your lawns green this summer for just £6
GARDEN-LOVERS are racing to Aldi for a budget buy that’ll keep your grass greener than the neighbours’ – and it’s only £5.99.
The supermarket giant is launching a brand new Watering Rod as part of its latest Specialbuys garden range – and it hits stores this Thursday, April 10.
The handy gadget is perfect for summer, making watering your garden a total breeze.
It features eight different spray patterns to suit all your watering needs, whether you’re tackling flower beds, veggie patches or dry lawns.
The rod comes with a lightweight aluminium pole, a comfy non-slip grip and it fits all common garden plug systems, meaning it’s good to go with most hoses.
And at just £5.99, it’s an absolute steal.
A quick check shows similar products cost way more elsewhere.
Screwfix is flogging the Spear & Jackson Telescopic Watering Wand for a hefty £21, while Amazon is selling the LINZI version for £13.
Over at Toolstation, their version is priced at £8.96, however home delivery will set you back an extra £5.
That makes Aldi’s version the cheapest option.
Its always worth comparing prices across different stores to make sure you’re getting the best value for money.
Bargain hunters looking to snap up Aldi’s watering rod will need to be quick.
Like all Aldi Specialbuys, it’s only available while stocks last – and this one is in-store only, so you won’t be able to order it online.
You can find your nearest branch using Aldi’s store locator tool.
The watering rod is the latest garden item in Aldi’s popular spring garden range as Brits head back outdoors after months of gloomy weather.
The budget retailer announced the return of its annual garden range, bringing back some old favourites.
The collection is also stocking decorative items, including whimsical garden arch, a vintage metal hanging pot and a spring rattan hanging basket.
How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal.
There are plenty of comparison websites out there that’ll check prices for you – so don’t be left paying more than you have to.
Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers.
Here are some that we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results.
- Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock.
- Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one.
- CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.
Just weeks ago, the supermarket dropped a garden gadget that was a staggering £150 cheaper than a Bosch version, sending shoppers wild.
Elsewhere, for those struggling with spring pests ruining the lawn, a homeowner has revealed a cheap hack.
They recommend sprinkling a 50p essential over your lawn to get rid of rats once and for all.
