Tottenham believe top manager target can deliver them a Premier League title
Tottenham Hotspur have quietly identified a man they believe can take them all the way to the Premier League title – and it’s not Ange Postecoglou.
Given Ange Postecoglou’s struggles this season, it’s hardly a shock to see reports swirling around about a potential managerial change. Performances have dipped, results have been patchy, and the pressure is starting to show.
It’s become quite clear that if Postecoglou is to stand any chance of keeping his job into next season, he’ll likely need to deliver the Europa League – anything less, and the writing could be on the wall.
And while the Australian will be hoping to turn things around, Tottenham are already putting plans in place.
Several names have been mentioned as possible replacements for Ange Postecoglou, and the club are understood to be actively assessing options in and outside the Premier League.
Among the domestic candidates being looked at, Marco Silva, Thomas Frank and Andoni Iraola are all said to be in the frame. However, it’s Andoni Iraola who appears to be leading the pack in Tottenham’s thinking.
Tottenham believe Andoni Iraola could lead them to Premier League glory
Postecoglou managed to stop the rot with a much-needed win in his last league outing, easing past already-relegated Southampton 3-1.
It was a result that offered a slight breather from a grim run of form that’s seen Spurs lose 16 league matches this season.
That win may give the Australian some short-term momentum going into the Frankfurt tie, but the club’s long-term planning appears to be firmly in motion.
Reports now indicate that Tottenham believe Iraola could be the man to finally bring the Premier League title to N17.
As per TeamTalk, Spurs are preparing a move for the Bournemouth head coach, with belief growing internally that he’s capable of building a squad that can genuinely challenge at the top end of the table.
Since arriving at the Vitality Stadium in the summer of 2023, Iraola has earned plenty of praise – not just for results, but for the style and substance he’s brought to the Cherries.
Under his watch, players like Dean Huijsen, Justin Kluivert, Milos Kerkez and Antoine Semenyo have all kicked on, and Bournemouth now find themselves in the conversation for European places.
Spurs admire Iraola’s elite coaching credentials amid growing doubts over Ange Postecoglou
Tottenham are also understood to be seriously impressed with the work Iraola has done this season, and word is they view him as one of the brightest young coaches in the game right now – someone they believe has the tools to take them to that next level.
Daniel Levy has never overseen a Premier League title-winning side during his time as chairman, but there’s a growing sense that the Spanish tactician could be the man to change that narrative – provided the club can convince him of the project.
Other options remain on the table too, with Brentford’s Thomas Frank, Fulham’s Marco Silva, and even former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic still being monitored.
But it’s Iraola who stands out as the primary target, and Spurs will now need to sell him their vision if they’re serious about pulling the trigger on a change.
