Johnny Gaudreau's Wife Meredith Welcomes Baby No. 3 After His Passing
Johnny Gaudreau’s wife, Meredith Gaudreau, welcomed the couple’s third baby!
The news comes seven months after the NHL star’s untimely passing back in August of 2024.
“I had our third baby!” Meredith shared via Instagram on Monday (April 7).

“Another baby boy ????????. Carter Michael Gaudreau — same middle name as his daddy. 8lb 3 ounces, 20.5 inches — exact same as his daddy. He looks exactly like his daddy too ????,” she continued.
“I love you so much my baby! We are going to have so much fun. I can’t wait to give you the best life, my special boy forever.”
Johnny played in the National Hockey League for 11 seasons. He and his his younger brother, Matthew Gaudreau, were tragically killed when they were struck by a suspected drunk driver while biking near their New Jersey hometown. Johnny was 31, and Matthew was 28.
The couple had two children together previously: a daughter, Noa, born in September 2022 and a son, Johnny Jr., born in February 2024. Meredith announced in her eulogy that she was pregnant with their third child.
The driver has been charged with two counts of death by auto, along with reckless driving, possession of an open container and consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle.
