As someone who shops for a living, nothing gets my wallet open faster than the words “limited edition.” That’s especially true when it’s tied to a brand that I personally adore, like Disney. I couldn’t tell you the amount of times I’ve bought something just because it was an exclusive Disney launch. While it’s great for some things like figurines or toys, it’s different when you’re dealing with something practical like running shoes. After all, you want to be able to use it at some point, right? So, when I got my hands on a pair of the adorable Minnie Mouse running shoes from the newly launched Brooks x runDisney collaboration, I knew there was only one place to give them a test: Walt Disney World.
Before we get to the good stuff, here’s a little background on the new launch. In case you missed it, Brooks was announced to be the official running shoe of runDisney back in October. It was a collab that was about two years in the making, and the collection made its debut at the runDisney Springtime Surprise Health & Fitness Expo last week. The collection features four (super) limited-edition running shoes which celebrate both the runDisney event, as well as Disney’s First Couple, Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
I was fortunate enough to be gifted a pair of the Ghost Max 2 Minnie Mouse running shoes (which BTW, you may want to grab before they sell out!), and they are just as cute in person as they look in photos. The design features Minnie’s iconic red and white polka dots, as well as her silhouette on the heel. Additionally, the other little details, like the golden yellow outsole and sketch-like stitching along the Brooks’ logo, really make this a fun pair for Minnie fans. Did I mention, hidden Mickeys were designed into each shoe in the collection? Talk about a shoe designed for Disney fans.
Although the sneakers look fairly bulky, they are very lightweight. I personally love the extra bit of height they give me. Plus, the chunkiness of the shoes make them a really stylish option to wear with joggers, jeans, leggings, or tennis skirts.
Fair warning: You will get compliments — a lot of compliments — especially if you wear them to the Disney parks. Case in point, I barely got on the shuttle for EPCOT when someone stepped off and told me they loved my shoes. It was the first of many that day.
So, we all know the shoes look cute. But how well do they actually hold up at the parks?

Ghost Max 2 Minnie Mouse
Are the Brooks x runDisney Minnie Sneakers Good for a Full Day at Disney?
In order to see just how comfy these shoes were, I wanted to wear them on a day when I knew I’d be doing a lot of walking. Since the runDisney and Brooks teams invited me to participate in the Springtime Surprise as part of the shoe collection launch, I opted to wear my Minnie sneakers for the very first time during the 5K marathon. Smart? Probably not. However, it gave me a good opportunity to see how the shoes were straight from the box.
The Ghost Max 2 Minnie Mouse running shoes are described as having soft, lightweight cushioning and a rocker shape that “actively helps you move from landing to toe-off.” Overall, I feel like the shoes do exactly that. The cushioning is plush and super comfy. Plus, the shoes have a very nice bounce to them, making them great for jogs or runs. The toebox had just enough room for me, though I can see it maybe being an issue for someone who needs a wider fit.
During the 5K marathon (which is just over three miles), we ran all around the EPCOT parking lot, all around the World Showcase, and then back to the parking lot area. Although the course was mostly flat, there were some slight inclines and rocky sections. These shoes handled them all. My feet and knees also felt good, regardless of whether I was jogging or speed walking.
Post-race, my feet were totally fine. I didn’t get any blisters, my heels were good, and I felt like I could probably walk another mile or so. But it was nearing six in the morning, and having been awake since three, the only thing I wanted to do was go to bed.
After getting some much-needed, I took put these on again and wore them for about nine hours at EPCOT. A day at Disney is already a ton of walking, but personally, I feel like EPCOT is a beast of its own. Not only is the World Showcase big, there are other areas to see at the front of the park, so you will be doing a lot of walking. That’s exactly what I did. Not only did I walk the entire World Showcase once again, but I also kept going back to certain “countries” to grab food or ride rides. The only real downtime was during a quick dinner and then waiting for the fireworks show, which was amazing. But even then, at the end of the night you’re still standing to watch the show and you have to make the walk back to the shuttle.
That day, I was at EPCOT for over 12 hours and logged over 25,000 steps. Other than tiredness for being on my feet all day, I felt like the Brooks x runDisney shoes did an excellent job at keeping my feet comfy. I wasn’t dying the next day either. I was up and ready to explore another Walt Disney World theme park.
So, verdict? Yes, the new Brooks x runDisney Ghost Max 2 Minnie Mouse is an excellent shoe to wear at the theme park. They’re super cute, super comfy, and your feet will be happy at the end of the day.
The best part is, the shoes are now available to shop online. So, be sure to grab a pair before they sell out! Below, check out the other new drops from the Brooks x runDisney collection, including a stylish Mickey Mouse pair.
