Nike’s Air Force 1 Is Being Reborn as an Easter Basket for the Holiday
Nike’s Air Force 1 Low is getting a new look for Easter, and it’s not heavy on the pastels like you might expect.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Easter Basket” sees its its underlays get a woven treatment that may inspire you to fill it with candy for the holiday. The natural tone of a basket is complemented by off-white suede overlays, as well as a brown sockliner and outsole. A glossy blue brings shine to the Swoosh, and the mustache carries a metallic sheen in green. Pastels then play their part with purple Nike Air branding on the mustache and midsole, as well as seafoam laces and midsole lines.
A purple tongue tag with with brown branding has an added grass motif, and the inner tag features egg graphics that include a Swoosh coming out of a broken egg. A more realistic fake grass graphic rounds out the Easter flourishes on the insole with shadowed branding overlaid at the heel, as well as a chocolate bunny and golden egg embedded within the strands on the left and right shoe, respectively.
Although it’s not the biggest of holidays for themed sneakers, Nike does have a history of doing up some of its classics for Easter — more often than not with the perfunctory mix of pastels. This new Air Force 1 is much more adventurous than usual, but a more standard leather AF1 with a range of pastels is also in the pipeline this month.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Easter Basket” doesn’t yet have a firm release date but should release soon given that Easter is just under two weeks away. Expect a release through the Snkrs app and a price of $160.
