1 dead following early morning crash in Marlborough
MARLBOROUGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) — One person has died following a car crash in the town of Marlborough on Saturday, according to New York State Police. The fatal crash reportedly occurred on Old Post Road.
State Police Highland responded to the scene just after 5:20 a.m. According to the police investigation, 34-year-old Mariah Hyde of Poughkeepsie was driving a 2014 Kia Sorento northbound on Old Post Road. She allegedly lost control of the car and hit a tree on the road's eastern shoulder.
Hyde was pronounced dead at the scene, State Police said. She was reportedly the only person in the car.
An investigation into the crash in ongoing, according to police. Anyone who witnessed the incident is encouraged to call State Police Highland Bureau of Criminal Investigation at (845) 691-2922.
