Janibek breaks Ngamissengue in five
Janibek Alimkhanuly dominated the undefeated Anauel Ngamissengue in front of the Kazakh faithful
Unified middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly’s got the violent finish he wanted in his Kazakh homecoming, beating down fellow former Olympian Anauel Ngamissengue in five.
Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KO) put Ngamissengue (14-1, 9 KO) on his seat at the end of the first, with the ref seemingly ruling it a slip before realizing that Ngamissengue was genuinely hurt. Despite a clear edge in footwork and speed, Alimkhanuly gave Ngamissengue the in-fight he wanted, taking the occasional left hand but coming back with heavy, accurate shots.
He managed to rattle Ngamissengue with a right hook late in the third, then rolled his eyes all the way back with a counter left in the fifth. As Ngamissengue reeled back, Alimkhanuly blasted him with another left hand that sent the Frenchman crashing to the mat. Though he beat the count, he was clearly still in another dimension, prompting his corner to mount the apron and the ref to call the fight.
It’s a solid win, but Alimkhanuly’s got plenty of solid wins under his belt. He’ll want a big name next; I assume he called one out during his post-fight interview, but they didn’t provide an English translator, so who know.
