Driver dead after falling off I-70 in Topeka construction area
TOPEKA (KSNT) - One person is dead after an early morning crash in downtown Topeka.
The Topeka Police Department (TPD) reports that around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5 emergency responders learned a vehicle had driven off the I-70 overpass near Southwest 2nd Street and South Kansas Avenue. Police say the driver went through a portion of the highway that was blocked off and under construction.
Medical personnel declared the driver of the vehicle dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in this incident. The identity of the driver has yet to be released.
