Bruins Recall Forward Prospect From Brandon Carlo Trade
The Bruins could see a forward prospect make his debut.
General manager Don Sweeney announced Saturday that Boston recalled forward Fraser Minten on an emergency basis. The B’s assigned forward Jeffrey Viel to Providence in a corresponding move.
The Bruins acquired Minten before this year’s NHL trade deadline when they sent Brandon Carlo to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Black and Gold also acquired a 2026 first-round draft pick (top-five protected) and a 2025 fourth-round pick (from the Philadelphia Flyers).
Minten immediately made an impact in Providence when he netted a natural hat trick a week after the Bruins acquired him. The 20-year-old scored seven points in 10 games with the P-Bruins, and he recorded nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 36 AHL games this season.
The Bruins play their final back-to-back set this season, starting with a matchup against the Carolina Hurricanes at TD Garden on Saturday and concluding with a matchup against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Sunday. It’s possible Minten makes his Boston debut this weekend.
