Man and girl, 10, killed in holiday park caravan fire
A man and ten-year-old girl have been killed in a caravan fire at a holiday park in Lincolnshire.
Emergency services were called to Golden Beach Holiday Park, Roman Bank, Ingoldmells at 3.53am this morning to reports of a caravan fire.
The 48-year-old man and the girl are thought to have died at the scene.
Crime scene Investigators are on site and carrying out inquires to establish the cause of the fire, said Lincolnshire Police.
A police spokesperson said: ‘We are very sad to confirm that two people have died following a caravan fire at Golden Beach Holiday Park, Roman Bank, Ingoldmells.
‘We were called at 3.53 am today (5 April) to a report of a caravan fire at the holiday park where two people have tragically lost their lives.
‘Their next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially trained officers.
‘Fire and Rescue crews attended from Skegness, Wainfleet, Spilsby and Alford. There are two crews still at the scene and fire investigations are on-going.’
Police said they were at a very early stages of their investigation and’keeping an open mind’.
National Grid said its engineers had disconnected the local electricity supply to allow the police and fire service to carry out investigations on site.
It added it would aim to restore power to ’50 locally affected customers’ once the investigations were completed.
Earlier this week LincolnshireLive reported there had been another caravan fire in Roman Bank, Ingoldmells on Tuesday, April 1.
The blaze, which was extinguished by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, was caused by an electrical fault, according to investigators.
