LOOK: Dolly de Leon spotted in ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ season 2 teaser
MANILA, Philippines – Hulu released a few first-look teaser photos for the upcoming season of Nine Perfect Strangers, and one of them shows Triangle of Sadness star Dolly de Leon!
The award-winning Filipino actress is seen in the Austrian Alps with Annie Murphy and King Princess.
Another shot shows Dolly and her castmates sitting on a mat on the floor.
In a January interview with GMA News, De Leon shared that the process has been “wonderful,” especially with a fantastic cast, great writer, and a supportive director at the helm. “It’s gonna be a totally new and exciting journey for me because I’ve never been away from home for this long,” Dolly said.
As shared by Variety, the show follows nine strangers who are invited by mysterious wellness guru Masha Dmitrichenko (Nicole Kidman) to join a wellness retreat in the Alps. However, the group of nine, are challenged in ways they could not imagine.
Amazon Prime teases about season two: “Over the course of a week, [Masha] takes them to the brink. Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself.”
Aside from Kidman reprising her lead role as Marsha, season two also stars Henry Golding, Lena Olin, Christine Baranski, Lucas Englander, Murray Bartlett, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Mark Strong, and Aras Aydin. Dolly will be stepping into the role of Agnes.
The first season of Nine Perfect Strangers is based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty. It debuted on Hulu in 2021 with an entirely different cast, apart from Kidman. In 2023, the second season was announced.
Hulu has set the debut date for the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers to May 21 with two new episodes and new episodes weekly.
An official teaser trailer has yet to be released.
Dolly de Leon is the first Filipina actress to receive a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Triangle of Sadness, where she portrayed the character of the indomitable toilet cleaner Abigail.
