Multiple subway train lines partly suspended and delayed in NYC
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Multiple subway train lines have been impacted after brakes were pulled on two trains, according to the MTA.
The M train line has been suspended between Delancey St-Essex St station in Manhattan and Forest Hills-71 Av in Queens in both directions.
M trains were only running between Middle Village-Metropolitan Av and Delancey St-Essex St via the J line.
Additionally, the J train line was also suspended between Marcy Av in Brooklyn and Broad St in Manhattan.
As a result of the partial suspensions E, F and R trains were running with severe delays in Queens. Some E and F trains were running local with some ending service at either Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av or 21 St-Queensbridge. Some R trains also ended service at Whitehall St-South Ferry.
For alternate service, the LIRR cross-honored subway passengers between Jamaica and Penn Station/Grand Central.
Commuters were also advised to take the No. 7 train as well as C and W trains for service in Queens and Manhattan.
For more information and updates, commuters can check the MTA's website and social media.
