Warmer, spring-like temperatures return to Portland area
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Sunshine and warmer weather returns today across western Oregon and southwest Washington.
Temperatures will quickly climb above the average of 60 degrees on Friday afternoon. Above-average temperatures are expected to build along the Willamette Valley Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will go from the mid to upper 60s on Friday to the low to mid-70s on Saturday.
Coastal areas will also see mild and mostly sunny conditions this weekend. However, the coast is the first to feel the impacts of Oregon and Washington's latest round of wet weather on Sunday.
An increase in clouds on Sunday will give way to scattered showers from west to east on Sunday. Nearly a half inch of rain is possible by the end of the weekend around Portland.
Cool and wet weather will settle back into the Pacific Northwest by the start of next week. Highs will sit slightly below average as a gradual warming trend takes place in the middle and end of the week.
