Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of New Jersey
NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – Severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued across New Jersey Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
One warning was issued for areas including Toms River, Lindenwold and Haddonfield through 6:15 a.m. The NWS warns winds up to 60 mph and hail up to a quarter in size are possible.
A second warning was issued for Atlantic City, Vineland and Pleasantville through 6:45 a.m., according to the NWS.
There is also a special marine warning for the waters of the Manasquan Inlet, Little Egg Inlet and Sandy Hook through 7:15 a.m., the NWS wrote on X. Residents could potentially see damaging winds, pea-sized hail and steep waves, meteorologists said.
Most of the showers and thunderstorms are expected before 11 a.m., according to the NWS. High temperatures will be in the mid-60s on Friday.
