Former Albany Fire Chief Warren Abriel passed away early Thursday morning. Albany Fire Department members recall Abriel’s 46 years of service to be full of leadership, passion, and dedication.
2. NYS Lawmakers pass another budget extender | NEWS10 ABC
The state budget is now three days late. Lawmakers have issued another extender so that employees can get paid in the interim. The latest budget extender is now going until Monday, allowing state operations to continue.
3. Local reaction to federal food program cuts
The federal government has cut $1.5 billion for USDA food programs. Disheartening is how the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York described it, adding this will lead to a food gap that needs to be filled.
4. East Durham Irish Festival returning for 48th year
The East Durham Irish Festival is making a return for its 48th anniversary this Memorial Day Weekend. It runs Saturday, May 24, and Sunday, May 25, with a free Friday night kickoff session.
