Norwich woman gets probation for forged check incident
WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Norwich woman was sentenced to five years of probation after pleading guilty to grand larceny. According to the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office, Joellyn Bedford, 51, admitted to using a forged bank cashier's check to purchase a Ford Bronco.
According to the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office, on October 12, 2023, Bedford used a forged bank cashier’s check with a false name to purchase a 2021 Ford Bronco from a seller. She then sold the vehicle to a dealership in Otsego County.
She was charged with grand larceny in the second degree and criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree. In February 2025, she pleaded guilty to grand larceny in the third degree.
On Wednesday, Bedford was sentenced to probation. Assistant District Attorney Andreanna Diliberto prosecuted the case.
