How to track power outages in Franklin County, central Ohio
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Over 20,000 AEP customers are without power following a wave of strong storms in central Ohio, which caused localized flooding and damaging winds Thursday morning.
According to the American Electric Power outage tracking map, approximately 20,200 customers remain without power, as of 5 a.m. Thursday, with 288 total outage cases reported. Overnight high winds, damaged trees and heavy rain contributed to storm damage in and around the Franklin County area.
Central Ohio traffic conditions
Franklin County is reporting around 1,000 customer outages, while counties south and east of the area also experiencing outages. Licking County is reporting 1,900 outages, along with Perry County (1,200), Fairfield County (1,000), Meigs County (1,670), Morgan County (2,600), while Pickaway, Athens, Hocking, Muskingum, Vinton, Jackson, Gallia, Pike, Scioto and Guernsey counties are all experiencing outages affecting between 200 and 600 customers.
