Driver arrested in connection to Livingston Parish hit-and-run injuring pedestrian
LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A man was arrested in Livingston Parish for allegedly hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.
Officials said they arrested 30-year-old Brandon Chenevert of Denham Springs in connection with the hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian severely injured.
On March 29, just before 9 p.m., officials said they responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on LA 1023, south of LA 63.
Officials said that a vehicle struck the pedestrian and fled north on LA 1023. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the crash.
On April 1, officials received two anonymous tips identifying Chenevert as the driver. While investigating officials said they discovered the suspected vehicle and damaged parts. They said narcotics and firearms were also found on the property.
Chenevert was sent to a Livingston Parish jail for felony hit and run, negligent injuring, obstruction of justice, failure to seek assistance, possession of schedule I with Intent to distribute, possession of schedule III and possession of a firearm in the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
There is currently no information released on Chenevert's bond. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
