Troy city comptroller resigns
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Troy City Comptroller has resigned. Jack Krokos was hired in January.
In a joint statement, City Council Pres. Sue Stelle and Councilmembers Katie Spain-McLaren and Aaron Vera said:
“This evening, the mayor notified the council of the resignation of city comptroller Jack Krokos. We thank Mr. Krokos for his service to the city of Troy, and wish him well in his next chapter.
“Looking forward, a qualified successor must be named immediately. There remain real questions about the city’s finances and spending. Hiring a new city comptroller is critical to restore public trust in the city’s ability to manage taxpayer dollars.”
The city had been without a comptroller since July 2024 before Krokos was hired. Mayor Carmella Mantello said Krokos resigned over family issues.
