UAlbany's DeMarr Langford Jr. to compete in dunk contest
ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) -- DeMarr Langford Jr., Senior Guard for the UAlbany Men's Basketball team, will compete in the State Farm College Slam Dunk contest on Thursday night.
Langford Jr. becomes the first player from UAlbany to represent the school in this competition.
"It's definitely an honor," Langford Jr. said. "I'm very excited to put my name out there and show what UAlbany is, has recruited and made into a man."
The Senior averaged 9.9 points per game in his one season with the Great Danes, including some highlight worthy dunks throughout the season. He's got some things in mind for the competition on Thursday night.
"One dunk I've had for a while now that, it's funny, I've never seen anybody do," Langford Jr. said. "A different type of between the legs. So, when you see it, you'll understand why."
The college dunk contest is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. in San Antonio, Texas. It will be shown on ESPN.
