Ariana DeBose Deletes Post with Anti-Rachel Zegler Quote, Says She Didn't Realize the Origin
Ariana DeBose denies that she is taking sides in the alleged feud between her West Side Story co-star Rachel Zegler and the Platt family.
Rachel starred in the movie Snow White, which was produced by Marc Platt. In addition to producing movies like Wicked, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins Returns, and Dear Evan Hansen, he has also made movies like Legally Blonde, Josie and the Pussycats, and La La Land.
Marc‘s son Jonah Platt took to Instagram last week and accused Rachel of hurting the film’s box office by making political statements.
“Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged,” Jonah ended his statement, which has since been deleted.
Ariana shocked fans when she posted that exact quote to her Instagram Stories, though she has since deleted the post after becoming aware of its origin. She’s now speaking out to clarify what happened.

“I post quotes all the time and thought this one was meaningful. Will fully cop to the fact I did not do any research on where this quote came from, nor did I know of the connection until it was pointed out to me,” Ariana said in her new comments. “I have no intention of inserting myself into a news cycle. This is not the first time I’ve posted about dealing with narcissism and it probably won’t be the last, but next time I’ll be sure to clarify its origins first.”
Jonah‘s biggest claim to fame is playing Fiyero in the Broadway musical Wicked, a show which his dad produced.
Marc Platt is also the father of Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winner Ben Platt.
