Town sets forum on
waterfront deck rules
The town is planning a public workshop on possible changes to waterfront deck regulations in the Mariner Cove area.
The potential zoning amendment involves properties raised above base flood elevation to comply with Federal Emergency Management Agency requirements.
“Under existing regulations, many homeowners who elevate their homes are unable to raise their rear yard decks as part of the project,” the town said in a statement. “Decks raised above 3 feet count towards lot coverage maximums and also face more strict setback requirements.”
The workshop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 14 in the council chambers at Town Hall. Teleconference access will be available at shorturl.at/B3Mp5.
