Huge Brit rock star chased by men with guns and SWORDS after he had fling with Saudi prince’s daughter
MICK JAGGER’s bed-hopping antics during the Rolling Stones’ heyday are well documented.
But one of his more risque escapades has now come to light thanks to a new book, Gliders Over Hollywood: Airships, Airplay, And The Art Of Rock Promotion.
In it, Paul Rappaport, the ex-Vice President of Rock Promotion at Columbia Records, recalls a tale he was told by Atlantic Records executive Tunc Erim, who warned him about how dicey life could be working with the group.
He wrote: “Tunc told me about traveling with the Stones to somewhere in the Middle East.
“Mick had evidently hit it off with the daughter of a Saudi prince, and the prince was none too happy about it.
“Mick wanted the girl to travel with him and the band for a while, and Tunc was in charge of secreting them out of the country together, which meant being chased down by the prince’s men wielding big guns and long curved swords as they ran for the Stones’ private jet across the airport tarmac.”
Lucky they didn’t catch Mick.
Given Saudi’s previously gung-ho approach when it comes to chopping off body parts of “bad people”, I wonder what they might have lopped off if they did.
Meghan prickly on weight loss
MEGHAN TRAINOR has revealed she turned to type 2 diabetes drug Mounjaro to lose weight.
In a lacy black dress at Billboard’s Women in Music bash in Los Angeles, the All About That Bass singer looks to have shed some pounds since her Jingle Ball Village gig in MIami in 2014 – but hit out at people who asked how.
On Instagram, she wrote: “It’s a little disheartening that so many of the questions (and comments) were focused on my body instead of my music, my passion, or the decade of hard work that got me here.
“I’ve been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version of myself.
“I’ve worked with a dietician, made huge lifestyle changes, started exercising with a trainer, and yes, I used science and support (shout out to Mounjaro!) to help me after my second pregnancy.”
MUMFORD & SONS are on course to land a third No1 album with Rushmere.
It is in the lead ahead of Friday’s new chart, with the single Caroline also working its way up.

THE pre-sale for Lady Gaga’s Mayhem Ball tour started this week – and when our Jack joined O2’s queue for tickets at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, he had 38,000 ahead of him.
She has added a second date at the venue, along with another at London’s O2 Arena.
It brings the total to six shows in the UK in September and October.
They go on general sale at noon tomorrow.
Tom in MopeLand
TOM HARDY looked absolutely thrilled to be at the New York premiere of his new series MobLand . . . not.
In fact, he appeared totally disinterested at the thought of spending another hour or so of his life promoting Guy Ritchie’s new TV series.
From what I’ve seen so far, Tom is brilliant as the charming yet terrifyingly threatening fixer Harry Da Souza.
You’d think reviewers blowing a bit of smoke up his backside would give him something to smile about.
Maybe the jet lag is hitting him hard.
GLASTO’S GLAMPSITE
IF you want to know where the celebs stay while at Glastonbury, take a look at the Pop-Up Hotel.
Unlike some more hardcore guests who stay on site, such as Cruz Beckham and Tilda Swinton, others choose to pay thousands of pounds for the joys of, as the website states, “flushing toilets”.
But to have such a privilege during the Worthy Farm bash in June, you need to be absolutely loaded.
A basic “classic room” starts at £3,699 for two people, or if you’re feeling very fancy you could spend £10,999 for a disused railway cabin, which also sleeps two.
A tipi tenthouse suite costs a staggering £28,999 – though it does sleep ten.
If anyone has a spare bed and doesn’t mind sharing with a tubby woman who snores, count me in.
Dua in wine form Down Under
DUA LIPA is back on stage tonight in New Zealand – but spent her day off suitably refreshed.
She went to a vineyard in Auckland with her parents and younger brother to taste wine.
Dua shared pictures from the trip on Instagram.
She arrived in style after charting a helicopter to fly her to and from the winery.
After Dua’s final show in Auckland on Friday, she will have a five-week break before the European leg of her huge Radical Optimism tour in Madrid on May 11.
And last night Dua announced the Latin American part of the tour – with eight stadium shows across countries including Argentina, Chile and Peru.
‘TRICKED’ TEDDY’S THERAPY
HIS breakout album was 2023’s I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy – but now Teddy Swims says his girlfriend has since tricked him into seeing a therapist.
The US singer-songwriter whose partner Raiche Wright is expecting their first child this summer, said: “She was like, ‘I think we should go to couple’s therapy as we’re having a baby. I want to make sure our communication is great’.
“The next thing you know, we’re in therapy. Then I’m talking to a therapist on the side in solo sessions. I was like, she got me!”
He revealed success has been a challenge mentally.
On Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, he explained: “I thought that when enough people said I was good at this, that all my problems would vanish.
“But that was the most lonely feeling.”
ANA: MY SPIELBERG STARTER
ANASTACIA was a jobbing wedding singer before finding fame – and performed at Hollywood film director Steven Spielberg’s nuptials.
But when the star later bumped into him and went to say hi, he hadn’t the foggiest who she was.
She told Radio 2’s Pop Top 10 with Scott Mills and Rylan Clark, out today on BBC Sounds: “Steven Spielberg was at a restaurant with his wife, and Penelope Cruz and Tom Cruise.
“I was like, ‘I need to go up to Spielberg because I sang at their wedding’. He’s like, ‘Do you remember her?’. She says, ‘I absolutely do!’.
“Penelope goes, ‘We know who she is’. They’re like, ‘It’s Anastasia you know’. It was quite a moment.”
At least you’ll recognise her next time, Steven . . .
