Watch the moment fuming John Bishop calls security to kick ‘aggressive’ audience member out of show – and gets cheered
FURIOUS John Bishop confronted a couple at his comedy show over alleged “aggressive” behaviour – before ordering security to kick a woman out.
The comedian was forced to act after the man and woman in the front row reportedly talked throughout his set continuously.
The 58-year-old made his feelings known, repeatedly asking them to stop speaking.
But the comedian finally ran out of patience and requested that they leave the theatre, according to other audience members.
The man is said to have gestured towards Bishop in an aggressive manner before he was grabbed by security and escorted out.
Comic Bishop can be heard in footage filmed by another audience member telling them: “They all have as much right as you do to enjoy the show.”
He then waves at the woman before security escort her out and says: “See you then.”
The room then erupts in applause for the comedian before jeering at the woman as she is escorted out of the gig.
The incident took place at the Princess Theatre in Torquay during Bishop’s Back At It tour last Thursday, NeedToKnow reports.
An onlooker said: “John warned a couple on the front row several times for the show to stop speaking.
“After the interval they continued doing so and then John told them he wanted them to leave.”
They claimed: “The man then stood up and gestured towards John as if he was going to jump on stage.
“Security got to him in time, grabbed him by the cuff of his shirt and then slammed him through two fire doors.
“My video only recorded the aftermath in which he then wanted this man’s wife thrown out of the building and slightly later two of their friends were also thrown out.”
Members of the public applauded the comedian for his actions.
One person said: “I’m not a fan of John Bishop’s comedy, but he comes across as a decent bloke.”
Another wrote: “There’s always one.”
A third added: “Good lad John for putting them in their place, you are brilliant.”
One posted: “Well done John.”
And another asked: “Why do people do this?”
The Princess Theatre has been approached for comment.
It is the latest in a string of high profile ejections at comedy gigs.
So far this year both Peter Kay and Jimmy Carr kicked disruptive audience members out of their shows.
