'Do the math': Top Dem slams GOP plan to kneecap judges as 'totally unworkable'
The Republican-led House is working to change the federal judiciary through legislation and funding measures, but one Democrat is calling out the plan.
President Donald Trump and his top advisor, tech billionaire Elon Musk, have argued for the impeachment of federal judges who ruled against the administration.
Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) promised Trump that he would hold a hearing and work to pass legislation limiting a federal judge's jurisdiction, CNN reported Monday.

Jordan is coordinating with the GOP leadership to outline "a game plan that prioritized legislation, a commitment to look at the funding for district courts through the appropriations process and public oversight through hearings."
“All three of those options are on the table and we’re going to pursue all three of them,” Jordan told CNN.
For the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, this is a nonstarter.
"This bill is totally unworkable," Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) told Fox News' Chad Pergram.
"Our judicial system of 94 different federal judicial districts could not handle the tidal wave of litigation that would necessarily follow. If you do the math, and you just had one person for every federal district in the country, it would take 12,220 attorneys to replicate the work of the original case, and then 12,220 defending prosecutors for the Department of Justice. Do the math. This is wholly unworkable," Raskin said.
