7 Questions Next Week’s ‘White Lotus’ Finale Must Answer

There is only one episode left on this season of The White Lotus and there are so many unanswered questions left for the show to wrap up.

What will happen to the Ratliff family?

Everyone’s future is in question as patriarch Timothy seems to be facing life-altering consequences for his white collar crimes, Piper contemplates living in Thailand for a year, Saxon questions his entire identity, Lochlan seems entirely lost (or possibly, like a predator) and Victoria may become the victim of family annihilation at the hands of her husband.

Who shoots the gun? And who gets shot?

The seasoned opened with Zion meditating with the White Lotus instructor when a shooting breaks out at the resort. The show then flashes back to the beginning of the week. The season’s final episode will reveal who is shooting, and who (if anyone) is shot.

What happened at the baby shower??

Early in the season we see Kate recognize Victoria and stop to talk to her. While Victoria claims she doesn’t recognize Kate, Kate reminds her that they spent a whole weekend together at a baby shower. Did something happen at the baby shower? Or is Victoria just that rude and antisocial?

Will the three girlfriends leave as friends?

Vacationing with friends isn’t always easy. When you’re not used to spending daily life with people, there’s a lot of adjustments to be made, especially as the luster of vacation wears off. With Jaclyn, Kate and Laurie, there’s also decades of drama and rivalries surfacing on their Thailand retreat. Are these issues going to end their friendship for good? Also, will Kate realize that Jaclyn was flirting with her husband at Laurie’s wedding? Or, will the women be able to accept each other’s imperfections and leave the White Lotus stronger than ever?

Will Belinda take the money and run?

Gary has offered Belinda $100,000 to start her own spa. Seemingly, this is also hush money to stop Belinda from asking questions about Tanya’s disappearance. Belinda doesn’t want the money but her son, Zion, tries to talk some sense into her. Although $100k is kind of a lowball offer, it seems like Belinda should definitely take the offer.

Also, will she and Pornchai end up together?

Will Gaitok step up?

Gaitok’s struggle is between his anti-violence Buddhist values and the fact that violence is necessary to advance in his career in security and impress his crush, Mook. The pressure on Gaitok may cause him to do something reckless with the gun. Alternatively, we could see Gaitok sticking to his beliefs and deescalating the gun situation without violence.

Is Jim actually Rick’s Dad?

Rick’s mysterious journey to Bangkok was a bit anticlimactic. Even though he was desperate and went to great lengths to meet Sritala’s husband Jim, the actual confrontation was tepid. Rick realized he wasn’t bloodthirsty afterall and instead decided to go on a bender with his old friend Frank.

The preview for the season finale shows Sritala and Jim showing up at the White Lotus, so this storyline isn’t quite over. Will Jim try to get revenge on Rick? Or is a bigger reveal about to happen? Some fans have speculated that perhaps Jim is actually Rick’s father, which could definitely be true. For me, the bigger final question for this storyline is whether Rick will realize how lucky he is to have Chelsea?
