3/31/2025: Warm, but unsettled with PM t-storms
The latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
A series of fronts pushing thorough the region today will bring showers, storms, and major temperatures changes.
Lighter, scattered rain this morning through the early afternoon. A few breaks of sun aren't out of the questions, and could serve to quickly rise temperatures - quite a few of us will get up to around 70 degrees!
But the warm weather could also fuel storms in the mid to late afternoon as the cold front pushes through. It is a low-end severe weather threat, with a chance for one or two thunderstorms that may produce heavy rain and gusty winds, especially from the Capital District south.
Temperatures drop rapidly tonight as the rain fizzles and departs. Expect lows in the mid 30's for most, with many in the Catskills and Adirondacks dropping into the mid or upper 20's.
Tomorrow afternoon is cooler as well, with highs in the 40's in much of our area. Blustery conditions will make it feel chilly at times... at least it will be bright and sunny by midday!
Clouds return Wednesday afternoon, with more rounds of showers starting that night. Warmth returns as well, with highs around 70 for Thursday! We're still in the 60's for Friday, with more sun in the afternoon.
It looks like another unsettled weekend - expect highs in the 50's with clouds and showers for the second half of Saturday, into the day Sunday.
