Two people seriously injured in Geary Co. crash
GEARY COUNTY (KSNT) - Two people were seriously injured in a Geary County crash on Sunday.
At 4:25 p.m., a 33-year-old man was driving an Oldsmobile Bravada east on I-70. They were approaching the rear of a Toyota Prius that was driven by a 67-year-old man. The driver of the Oldsmobile swerved into the right lane, hitting the rear quarter panel of the Toyota, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP).
The Toyota went into a flat spin with the driver regaining control and pulling off of the highway. The Oldsmobile also went into a flat spin before leaving the highway. The vehicle went through a fence line and rolled two to three times before coming to rest on its wheels, according to the KHP.
The driver of the Oldsmobile and their passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Lincoln, NE, were both seriously injured. The KHP said it was unknown if the driver of the Oldsmobile was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. According to the KHP, the 27-year-old wasn't wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Both occupants of the Toyota Prius were uninjured, according to the KHP.
